St. Patrick’s day is right around the corner and everyone is always trying to out do each other with costumes and the amount of green they are wearing. If you’re into dressing up, then this DIY is perfect for you. Turn a pair of old shoes, into a green glitter sensation that will have everyone thinking you’re a leprechaun. I won’t lie I will be dressing up with these shoes, a green blazer and some green suspenders.
What you need: Shoes (Ardenes (3 for $10!!)
Green Glitter
Mod Podge or Glitter Bond
Gold Spray Paint
1. Stuff your shoes with plastic bags or paper to prevent any glitter or glue going inside the shoes.
2. Spread the mod podge or glitter bond on the shoe. You can use a paintbrush or a makeup sponge to do this.
3. Over scrap paper, dump glitter (I put mine into a cup to make it easier) over the shoe where the mod podge/glitter bond is. Dump off the extra onto the paper and dump it back in the cup for the next area.
I did the front of the shoe, then a side, back, and other side. I found it easier doing it in littler sections.
4. For an extra St. Patrick’s day touch, you can spray your shoelaces gold.
Really cool idea! 🙂
