DIY Christmas Decor Idea

Canadian Tire Holiday CANVAS House

As Canadian Tire says themselves, they’re Canada’s Christmas Store!

You might remember back in the summer I headed to the Canadian Tire CANVAS house to browse their upcoming (now present) Christmas items. Well, while I was there I filmed a DIY in the CANVAS House that I can finally share with you guys! The DIY is a simple picture frame idea that you can create with simple items from around the house. Check out the video below for the full tutorial. I also took a full video tour of the Holiday CANVAS house for you guys to see. Make sure to stay tuned until the end of the video as it will give you some amazing Christmas decor ideas.

During the CANVAS tour, you could really see the 5 different designs that they were bringing to life. Even when you head to your local store you’ll notice that all the decorations are divided up into different themes. There’s the Red Tree, Gold Tree, Brights Tree, White Tree and Silver Tree. In addition to the different themes, they also have multiple trees that you can choose from.

  • Alpine White -CANVAS 7’ Lifelike Powder Peak Fir Tree
  • Silver – CANVAS 7’ Lifelike Glacier Spruce Tree
  • Gold – CANVAS 7’ Lifelike High Park Pine Tree
  • Red – CANVAS 7.5’ Lifelike Harrison Noble Fir Tree
  • Brights – CANVAS 7.5’ Appalachian Colour Change Pine

They currently have a lot of their Christmas items on sale but hurry because the sale ends on Nov. 30th! Check out the flyer here.

I ended up going with the CANVAS 7.5’ Appalachian Colour Change Pine tree because I LOVE how you can easily change the colour of the lights. With the handy remote you can easily switch the lights from white to coloured or even have them rotate between the two. I’m a big fan of trees like this as I grew up with a mix match tree and love that all the decorations on my tree tell a story. This year we did add more ornaments thanks to Canadian Tire, like a dog ugly Christmas Sweater (I think it’s super cute) as well as some red and wood ones. However, you will still always find the ornaments I grew up with on my trees like my NSYNC singing one, a Hippopotamus and Winnie the Pooh. Stay tuned to my Instagram as I’ll share some of those ones with you later!
