Best Scuba Diving in Aruba
When heading to Aruba, there seem to be the typical day trips that people gravitate to. These include the ATVs, snorkelling and beach hopping. While we still did some of those during our time in Aruba, Scuba Diving had to still be one of our favourite experiences. I’m guessing that if you’ve clicked on this article then you’re heading to Aruba soon and are looking for some scuba diving tips!
I always make sure to do my research before heading on a trip as you never want to leave disappointed or feel like you missed out. With that said, after some research, we booking a scuba diving trip with JADs Dive Center, which is located near Baby Beach.
Tip: They also offer pick-ups at your hotel.
We arranged a pickup for a morning dive and were picked up promptly at 8:30 am, out front our hotel. From there we went to pick up a few more people and headed to the JADs Dive Center. Once there you receive a basic introduction, which includes filling out some paperwork, getting your gear ready (which they provide – wetsuit, shoes, flippers, mask). You would think that this would be a boring process but the instructors offer up some good jokes and stories, it was a fun experience right from the beginning.
Tip: JADs Dive Center offers GoPro rentals for only $35 USD and also other underwater gear in case you might have forgotten anything.
Once everything is signed you’re off to your dive site! A popular spot is a shipwreck in Aruba but due to higher winds, it was too wavy for us to visit that spot. Instead, we headed to one of the instructor’s homes and dove in his backyard. It’s hard not to be jealous of someone who wakes up that view every day. This location was full of beautiful coral and sea life including a school of Dory Fish!
Not only were the instructors patient with teaching you the required hand signals, the techniques to clearing your mask and safety requirements, but they really make sure that you feel safe before starting anything. Lastly, they offer small groups, which ensures you get the best experience!
If you’re looking to dive in Aruba make sure to contact JADs Dive Center. They offer everything from intro dives to trips for fully experiences divers.
