Thanksgiving, well at least for us Canadians was a couple weeks ago. Since I’m a theme lover I had to find an easy fall sangria to make for dinner. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have already seen my creation. I went on a Pinterest hunt and came across a recipe from Recipe Girl.
This Easy Fall Sangria Includes:
- 2 pears, thinly sliced
- 2 apples, thinly sliced
- 1 lemon cut into 8 wedges
- seeds from one pomegranate
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 6 to 8 star anise
- 1/2 cup apple whisky
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 1 1/2 cups sparkling apple cider or Prosecco
- 2 cups apple cider
The only item that I found a hard time getting were the star anise. I personally don’t think it added too much flavour to the drink but they sure look awesome. I’ve Star Anise before in The Superstore in the spice section but depends on what location you go to. If you have a bulk barn near you, I suggest going there. I picked up more than enough for only $0.40.
Be sure to head over the Recipe Girl’s website to get the full recipe! My whole family loved it, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be making it again for Thanksgiving next year and just randomly throughout the fall!
