Updating Your Beauty Essentials

Just like clothes, it is important to update your beauty essentials every once in a while. I will admit I have been bad with this in the past because I will just keep saying to myself “You don’t need it right now” but in reality I really do. This goes for everything from your make-up brushes, tweezers, mascara and everything in between.

So now you might be asking, how do I know when it is time to upgrade? Well, that just depends on what you are looking to upgrade.

Brushes: When you start to see the bristles falling out or the brush bristles are starting to form a new shape. It’s time to change. When you know it’s getting close to when you will be needed a new brush, start keeping an eye on sales at your local Target or even check online at places like Amazon and eBay.

Tweezers:  I have a feeling that many of you have not updated your tweezers in a long time. They might seem to be working fine but really look closely at them, is the colour or silver fading/chipping away? Most likely. Are they actually sharp enough to grab those annoying small hairs? Sure aren’t. That’s when you know you need to do a change. I recently upgraded to a pair of Tweezerman, and I have honestly been able to grab the smallest hairs from my brows where as before I would be struggling and driving myself crazy. Your old pair might still work alright, so toss those in your purse or beach bag for those tweezer emergency moments.

Mascara: Last item I’m going to talk about is Mascara. You should be changing your mascara about every 3 months. This will help to prevent any clumping or flaking around the lashes. This is also a great opportunity to try out new brands or versions since beauty companies are really reinventing their mascara lines these days and offering some amazing products.

I don’t change my tweezers nearly as frequently as I should and when I start using a brand new pair, I always wonder why I waited so long.
