What I thought:
When you first start using the MiraCurl, it’s going to be a bit difficult, I won’t lie. It’s a new device and you’re not use to it. I still remember when I started curling my hair with my straightener and it took me FOREVER..now I can be done in 10 mins tops!

What’s great about the MiraCurl, is that if you are prone to have damaged hair, it will help to reduce that since the device tells you when the hair is done curling by sounding two beeps. This way, compared to a normal iron you’re not holding the heat to your hair for a longer than needed period of time. Perfect for coloured hair like mine, which can be damaged by heat a lot quicker.

I started by sectioning my hair into two parts (I have very thin hair) and took small sections at at time. Since I have thin hair, it didn’t take me very long to complete my whole head, maybe about 20 minutes.  I had the MiraCurl set on the Rotate option so the curls would curl Left, then Right etc. I was impressed with how the curls came out and how bouncy/tight they were. The one thing I didn’t like about the MiraCurl is that for people with short hair like mine with even shorter layers in the front and back, the curls can really make your hair look shorter. But, that’s just a personal preference.

I wanted to try the device on a different type of hair to see what kind of results they would get compared to mine. So when I had a girls night over the weekend, my friend from Two Hungry Blondes generously agreed to be my hair model! I wanted to try a pony tail look since every other review I saw had the hair down.

After letting the MiraCurl heat up, I took 1 inch sections from the pony tail and placed it into the MiraCurl. It took in the hair, we waited for the two beeps and next thing we knew my friend had a beautiful curl! To complete the pony tail, it honestly look about 10 minutes. I was impressed and left me wanting thicker hair and the want to grow my hair longer so I could use the MiraCurl to it’s full effect.

So, my overall opinion of the MiraCurl is that it does work. I think it’s a great investment for people especially with longer hair because I do believe it will save you time when curling. Plus it does the work for you! You could be curling your hair with one hand and drinking a glass of wine with the other.
