DIY :: How To Turn Jeans into Lace Shorts

I was going through a bunch of old clothes and came across these black jeans, they fitted perfectly around the waist but the bottoms were terrible – way too long and almost like a bell-bottom look. Not a look I was willing to try to bring back. I found some lace in my craft drawers and converted these old jeans to a pair of DIY Lace Trim Shorts. It was the perfect solution to bring these bottoms back to life.
  1. Lay jeans down on a flat surface
  2. Lay a pair of shorts that you like the cut/shape of over the jeans
  3. Using chalk, make a line
  4. Carefully cut along the line
  5. Using a sewing machine or by hand, place lace trim over the bottom edge of the shorts and sew. Use pins if it’s easier for you. Or you could try fabric glue is sewing is not your thing. Also, since the lace is covering the raw edges there is no need to hem the shorts before hand.
