Adventures in Blue Mountain with the 2017 Ford Escape

2017 Ford Escape

Over the past couple months, I have been thinking about getting a new car so when Ford Canada reached out to me and asked if I wanted to test out the 2017 Ford Escape Titanium, my answer was an instant Yes! In addition to testing the Ford Escape, they asked what type of adventure I wanted – which I chose Blue Mountain. No matter the weather, I feel like there is always something to do in there.

Blue Mountain 2017

I picked up the 2017 Ford Escape and left my car with them for the weekend. I had always wanted to test out a SUV as I currently drive a sedan so this swap was too easy. Instantly, I fell in love with everything this vehicle offered which included moon roofs, heated seats, heated steering wheel, keys-free start, remote car start, park assist, leather seats, dual-zone temperature control, hands-free navigation and more!

After an introduction of the features of the car – I was on the road. I used the Voice-Activated Navigation System to plug in my home address. Although traffic was pretty bad at this time, the comfy seats and playing around with the SiriusXM Satellite Radio kept me pretty entertained. Also used the hands-free calling to call my Brother and brag a little bit about my fancy new vehicle for the weekend.

Saturday

Early Saturday, we packed up the car with all our Blue Moutain gear – which included some snow gear, 2 suitcases and a bag of snacks for the hotel (everyone does this, right?). Once again we used the Voice-Activated Navigation System to plug in our hotel’s address and turned on the heated seats and steering wheel options to warm up.

I won’t bore you with the singing details of the 2.5-hour drive but I will say it was a smooth drive but my singing abilities were not.

Arriving into Blue Moutain, we checked into our hotel at the Seasons Resort which is located RIGHT in the middle of the village. I had never stayed this close to the village before and it was so much fun. The next priority was food – which we opted for Chuck Burgers and then a little stroll around the village.

We had some time to kill before dinner, so we took the Ford Escape out for another drive. This time up the mountain to see what kind of views we could get. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a lot of snow the weekend we went but the lookout areas were still stunning.

Next on the agenda, was hot tubbing! You can’t go to a hotel and not take full advantage of these amenities and it was the perfect way to warm up and relax before dinner. The Blue Mountain village might be small but there are a lot of fun places to go during the evening. I had a huge craving for pizza so Firehall was a perfect choice. As we were dining right, Earth Hour started and the whole village turned off their lights and placed candles around all the restaurants. Check out the video below to see more! After dinner, we hopped around to a few other restaurants and then went back to the hotel for one last hot tub before calling it a night.

Sunday

After one more stroll around the village, and eating a Beaver Tail for breakfast we hit the road to come home. The saddest part of the trip was handing back the 2017 Ford Escape and getting back in my car. I already miss the amazing features it offers but I definitely think it’s high on my list for my future new vehicle!
