Are Designer Dresses Actually Better?

Okay, so last week I headed into Toronto for the Marshalls and Hello! Canada event where they were having a red carpet event to showcase some of the new designer labels that were in the store. With Marshalls being one of my favourite stores for anything and everything I had to check it out. The store was packed and people who were actually pushing each other to get into the guarded room once they had finally opened it up – I went in and left that area quick! Way too busy for me. In the end I took home this Rachel Zoe dress that was marked at $179.99 compared to $375.00, not a bad price considering the actual price. As mentioned, the store was crowded so I didn’t get a chance to try the dress on but when I was ready to style it at home I was shocked to see that the lining really does nothing for this dress. If you look closely, I had to place a long tank top under this dress just so I could post and show you guys! Now, going back to the original question of this post, Are Designer Dresses Actually Better? In this case, I don’t think so. Even at the marked down price of $179.99, that’s a lot of mula for a dress that I still have to wear a slip or tank top under. What are your thoughts?

This dress is gorgeous, but I agree! Designer is not always best, especially if you need to add to it to make it wearable!

I tink if it’s cute and not designer, go for it! Very cute dress though!

It’s a cute dress though (and you look adorable in it)…but paying just for a name isn’t better in my book.

I think your dress is really pretty and you look cute in it. Labels don’t really mean anything to me. If I like a dress, purse, shoes, makeup, etc I buy it. I don’t think I’ve ever purchased something based on who made it. I agree with you about Marshall’s..an awesome store!

That is such a cute dress. I don’t think I could pull if off though.

I don’t think it’s worth it – cute dress, but I’d rather have several to choose from!
