‘Shifting-A-Shade’ with Clairol :: The Final Look

My Clairol Nice ‘n Easy ‘Shift-A-Shade’ transformation was a huge success! I won’t lie: I was nervous going in, as I haven’t died my hair with a box dye in over 5 years. I wanted to stay blonde but not go so blonde as to look as though I had bleached my hair. I sat down with Luis Pacheco, Stylist and owner at Hair on the Avenue in Toronto, and we talked about the options and colours that were available. He brought up the idea of using the box dye to cover my roots. I was thrilled with this solution because it allowed my hair to look like it was freshly coloured without dying my whole head. We ended up #87, the ultra light natural blonde. I highly suggest this option to anyone that is looking for a simple yet healthy way to maintain their hair/roots. In addition to touching up my hair, I sat down with make-up artist Patrick to learn a few makeup tricks. I’m always fascinated with the smoky eye look, but, as mentioned in my previous post I am scared of going too far when trying this look for myself; I’d hate to look like a raccoon by the end! Patrick taught me a way to create a smoky eye with a fun colour instead of using blacks/grays.

Lastly, I met with Alexandra who had a whole new look for me to try out! I had never tried combining knee-high socks with a pair of shoes and a skirt before but I loved the idea and the final look. I’m now on a mission to find similar pieces to add to my wardrobe.

Overall, I had such fun experience ‘Shifting-A-Shade’ with Clairol and definitely learned a few new tricks that I will be incorporating into my daily style. Be sure to check out my video of the experience below, and share your thoughts in the comments!
