DIY Ombre Nails with essie x Line Knitwear

During Fashion Week, Dee from Liner and Glitter and Gloss Oh, My! and myself attended the essie nail workshop where nail expert for essie, Rita Remark taught us a fabulous tutorial on how to achieve an ombre nail like the ones that were showcased during the Line Knitwear runway show. I had tried nail tutorials in the past, but nothing as easy as these were! Take a look below of some photos of Dee and I at the workshop.SYarhi essie-8763

Now to show you guys how you can get the look yourself!  Below are step-by-step instructions and photos to help you along! If you try this, be sure to tweet me @nellecreations and tag essie in it as we’d love to see your final result!
  1. Prep the nails with essie’s Ridge Filling base coat.
  2. Top the nails with one coat of essie’s Bobbing for Baubles, a deep sapphire blue.
  3. On a triangular sponge, horizontally blend a dot of Bobbing for Baubles with the sandy beige Sand Tropez until the hues appear to be ombré.
  4. Working quickly, with a light dabbing motion, stamp the ombré design onto each nail. The idea is to have the colour fade to Sand Tropez on the tip, with stamping repeated until the desire opacity has been achieved.
  5. Finally, clean up the look with an angular brush dipped in nail polish remover to clear any excess product from the cuticle area.
  6. Finish the look with essie’s Good To Go top coat.
